Comedy drama series about a curmudgeonly GP. Portwenn is buzzing with arrangements for the wedding of Martin and Louisa. But will the marriage finally go ahead? Martin is irritated by PC Penhale, who wrongly assumes he is best man, and Louisa is running late. The vicar has his doubts as to whether she will turn up, putting Martin even more on edge. Will they finally tie the knot, or will the villagers have to put the confetti back in the box?.

But Bert's plans look to be scuppered when Martin finds himself treating a host of patients with suspected food poisoning on the day after opening night. Bert hires a new chef, and passes a health inspection, but customer numbers continue to dwindle until the real cause for the sickness is discovered.
