Set against the backdrop of a sizzling Berlin summer, writer-director Leonie Krippendorff's dreamy coming-of-age drama follows Nora (Lena Urzendowsky), a quiet 14-year-old girl who keeps caterpillars in jars in her bedroom. Nora drifts through life on the heels of her older sister, Jule (Lena Klenke), who takes her to the best parties and pool hangouts in Berlin. Their mother has issues with alcohol and the sisters are largely left to their own devices. But while Jule flourishes in just about any social situation, Nora is introverted, and often finds herself more of an observer. As the summer progresses, she finds herself growing up quickly and questioning the feelings and thoughts she's having about the girls she sees sunbathing beside the local swimming pool.
