On a spring evening in April 2010, 126 workers on the Deepwater Horizon rig were drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. They'd been working for 74 days when suddenly the ground beneath their feet starts to shake. The lights flicker. Fire breaks out, and then… BOOOM! The rig explodes. The explosion kills 11 people and injures 17. The rig burned for two days and sank, triggering the largest ocean oil spill in world history and the largest environmental disaster in US history - polluting ecosystems, killing marine mammals, fish and seabirds. A catastrophe begins to unfold.
